Day 191

Two thumbs up for Christmas! HOORAY CHRISTMAS!

Will and his new buddy Santa Claus would like to wish all Will's readers a very happy holiday season and a SHOCKING new year.

Day 190

Will needs to work on his swing a little bit. It's more like a backhand swing with a tennis racket.

Here we see Will practicing his Ichiro imitation.

I think he needs to switch the bat to his other hand, then he'll have it down pat.

Will just heard how terrible the Mariners were this year. HE IS SHOCKED.

Will just heard that Dwight Schrute was shunned by his family from the ages of four to six for forgetting to save excess oil from a can of tuna.

Day 189

See? Here's the bat again.

Here we are amidst a rousing game of peek-a-boo. Will is just learning about putting the blanket on his own face and laughing when he pulls it off.

Will is a prodigy at the rolling-key-piano-xylophone-thing. He's playing it so fast he's blurry.

Day 188

The Mariners bat that Emma and Uncle Jon gave Will is becoming one of his favorite toys. It's good for chewing.

Day 187

In case you hadn't figured it out yet, Laurel is a nerd. When she was figuring out details of our wedding, she found a wedding message board and made friends with some other brides, some of whom are around the country and some of whom are located in Seattle. In her nerddom, Laurel continues to keep in touch with both the brides she befriended from around the country, as well as the ones in Seattle, many of whom are now having babies. The Seattle moms decided to have a Secret Santa gift exchange for the babies, and Will received a pair of slippers (that are harder for him to kick off than regular socks), and the awesome Touch and Feel Farm book that he's holding. For some reason, Laurel decided to take these pictures on her cell phone, so they are crappy. The reasoning escapes her now, but the crappy pictures will haunt her forever, along with her nerdiness.

Day 186

Today we went to visit Great Grandma Jo.

Her tree is very pretty.

This picture makes Will look like even more of a little porker than he already is.

Will had a busy day.

Day 185

Today Will is 6 months old! To celebrate, he ate sweet potato for dinner.

MORE PLEASE.

Day 184

Here is a fun new game. Scoot very, very slowly towards your little retro wind-up TV toy.

When your mom doesn't pick it up immediately and hand it to you, cry.

Knock the TV thing over.

When you realize that the TV thing is too big to fit in your mouth, cry again.

Repeat.

Day 183

Here, Will demonstrates how to fly like the flying squirrel on his t-shirt.

And here, he demonstrates how to be adorable.

Day 182

Tummy time is better with a friend! George rules at tummy time.

Don't mind me, I'm just over here being adorable.

Day 181

We forgot for two days in a row. =( Laurel took Will on a walk to the post office to drop off some packages. Upon arrival, Will screamed. Then Lorne had to come pick them up. The end.

Day 180

We forgot to take a picture, so here is an artistic representation of how Will has 12 really long hairs on top of his head.

Day 179

Will and Lorne read Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? before we checked out.

We took a walk in Santa Monica, had cupcakes, and wandered along the pier, but failed to take pictures of any of that.

Day 178

Today we drove up to LA so Laurel could do some recon work on craft fairs. We're so glad we decided to get a hotel room for the night, because it took about two hours to get from Anaheim to downtown LA on the drive in, and Will was having no more of his car seat. The drive home the same day would have been awful.

Anyway, after the craft show we drove out to West LA and checked in. Lorne found a Japanese restaurant for us to try, but when we walked up to the door, it looked far too swanky for jeans and babies. So we walked down the street and ended up eating at a 50s diner. They gave Will a balloon to entertain him while we ate, then we tied it to his stroller on the walk back to the hotel so we could play with it with him before bed. The balloon was all sorts of fun!

Until Will got tired of the balloon's ability to defy gravity.

Day 177

Day 176

Christmas means I get to play with Mom's penguins that are now all over our apartment!

I don't know what this thing is, but I think I like it.

No, wait Mom...I think that one would look better in my mouth.

There we go. Beautiful!

No, Dad, not on the tree. IN MY MOUTH.

Well, I guess it looks okay. You should have let me chew on more of the ornaments though. I really wish you would support my artistic vision.

This one is all pointy, so I don't really want to chew it. How about we put it up here?

Dad...are you sure this is safe?

Day 175

We may be incredibly biased, but we think Will is a pretty cute baby. If we may present to the court some evidence to support our case:

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

Exhibit C

We rest our case.

Day 174

IN SEATTLE PEOPLE HELD ME ALL THE TIME, AND ALSO THERE WERE LOTS OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO LOOK AT, NOT JUST STUPID MOM AND DAD!

Way to spoil our kid, Seattle. Luckily, Will can be distracted from his grief for awhile by rolling around in his diaper.
