So....what now?

Lorne and I were pretty terrible about writing things on Will's baby calendar thing that Lorne's mom was nice enough to give us (sorry Gail!), but in addition to being a good way to keep our friends and family up-to-date on Will's happenings, this blog served as a great way for us to look back on Will month by month.

June 13, 2008 - shortly after birth.

We missed some days here and there, but overall we have a good mosaic of his first year.

July 13, 2008 - one month old, covered in baby acne.

However, if you can read, you have probably noticed the title of this blog is "Will's First Year." It is no longer Will's first year.

August 13, 2008 - two months old.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THIS BLOG?

September 13, 2008 - three months old, eating his ugly doll.

We think we'll probably do weekly updates now, as we still like writing it, and presumably you still like reading it, since you're reading it now.

October 13, 2008 - four months old, going bald, snuggling Gracie.

However, sometimes I feel guilty about stupid things like forgetting to take a picture one day.

TURNING FIVE MONTHS OLD ON NOVEMBER 13, 2008 WAS SHOCKING.

My little business is picking up and I've started doing big craft fairs, so along with my day job, Lorne's school, and Will, we're not left with a whole lot of time.

December 13, 2008 - BEING SIX MONTHS OLD IS DELICIOUS.

You surely noticed that towards the end of Will's first year the blog was neglected for weeks at a time.

January 13, 2009 - seven months old with awesome hair.

However, we just got a new flash for the camera and Will is still pretty cute.

February 13, 2009 - eight months old.

This means we'll still take pictures. (Duh.) I doubt we'll go an entire week without taking a picture of him, so weekly blog posts seem feasible and less anxiety-inducing.

March 13, 2009 - nine months old and pantsless.

We really hope you've enjoyed watching Will grow with us over the last year, and we hope you'll continue to enjoy the blog.

April 13, 2009 - ten months old and totally awesome.

Even if we post less than we used to.

May 13, 2009 - eleven months old, eating some snackies.

We never bothered setting up Google Analytics or anything for this site, so we have no idea how many people are still reading (or looking, if you ignore the words because you are illiterate). I'm a little curious, so if you feel like it, drop a comment in this post. Wish Will Happy Birthday or something.

June 13, 2009 - one year old, and we couldn't be happier.

Day 365!

Actually this is day 1 of year 2 or something, but whatever. I TURNED 1 TODAY! This birthday stuff is pretty freaking exciting. Grandma Gail and Grandpa Bill came down from Seattle, as you may remember from Day 364, and then today Grandma Diane, Uncle Jon, and Emma came down from Seattle too! We all went to Great Grandma Jo's house for a party. A PARTY FOR ME.

Emma and Uncle Jon read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to me. This book is so cool.

It's so awesome that Mom made the caterpillar with my birthday cake. I think my cousin was pretty excited about eating it.

I also played with my cousin Eric (or maybe he's my second cousin, I don't know how all that works), who is six months younger than me. He kind of wanted to eat me.

The theme to my party was The Hungry Caterpillar, but it could have also been "Mexico" or "Italy."

I opened some presents. My relatives and friends were very generous and got me some super fantastic gifts. My mom and dad have been bad about writing thank you cards, and they apologize.

All that present opening made me hungry. BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR.

Cake, where have you been all my life?

FASTER GRANDPA! I AM FULL OF SUGAR AND I WANT TO RUN!!!

I watched Cousin Emma blow bubbles with Grandpa and then Uncle Jon got me with the hand snake.

Emma did a dance for me, which was pretty awesome.

She also sang me a song called "Today it is your birthday William," which was pretty awesome as well.

I got neat presents and played with my cousins and took out a caterpillar. Birthdays RULE.

Day 364

Today I played with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Bill. I put some stuff in my snacky container.

I also ate my first pizza! YAY PIZZA!

Pizza is an excellent facial cleanser.

Grandpa read me a story. Usually Mom and Dad read me stories, so I was surprised when I looked back and saw Grandpa's mustache.

Then Grandma and Dad gave me a bath, and OH MY GOSH. Dad came at me with a pair of SCISSORS. WHAT THE HECK DAD.

He cut the hair over my ears and it was pretty much the worst thing anyone has ever done to me. I guess Mom and Dad thought I should look "nice" for my "birthday" the next day.

Day 363

What's up guys? I turn 1 on Saturday. I think that means my parents messed up the numbering somewhere, because shouldn't Friday be Day 365 and Saturday be a brand new Day 1? And these people are supposed to teach me math.

Day 362

head on collision

Day 361

Hmm, what's that over there? Why, I think it's the gun show.

Look at these guns.

I'm so darn funny.

Day 360

Sorry for the barrage of blog posts. But we're all caught up now! Hooray. This morning Will was very sleepy.

Day 359

We forgot to take a picture again. I think failing to update the blog for a long stretch also made us not remember that in order to properly update the blog eventually, we would need material.

It's too bad too, because we had a really nice day on Day 359. We went to North Park to check out a local craft show (probably not worth Laurel's time, sadly) and then had a delicious lunch at this awesome restaurant, The Linkery. Will ate fresh corn on the cob (well, off the cob, but fresh) and sat in the booth without a booster or high chair and made lots of nice friends. Then we got a yummy dessert from a bakery up the street, Heaven Sent Deserts, when went shopping for birthday party supplies. We failed to bring our camera with. Sigh. It was a really nice day though.

Day 358

Baby Idol

Singing is delicious.

Day 357

Sometimes after I go to bed I'm pretty sure my parents do lots of things like eat candy and ice cream and play games and play with all my toys. This morning I found evidence. Mom left her ice cream bowl out from last night and I licked the spoon. And it was good.

Day 356

Day 355

Action Shot!

Eating the cell phone shot!

Day 354

Day 353

I can clap now guys! Look!

I can also go "wa wa wa wa wa" with my hand!

Also, I can be adorable.
