Lorne and I were pretty terrible about writing things on Will's baby calendar thing that Lorne's mom was nice enough to give us (sorry Gail!), but in addition to being a good way to keep our friends and family up-to-date on Will's happenings, this blog served as a great way for us to look back on Will month by month.
June 13, 2008 - shortly after birth.
We missed some days here and there, but overall we have a good mosaic of his first year.
July 13, 2008 - one month old, covered in baby acne.
However, if you can read, you have probably noticed the title of this blog is "Will's First Year." It is no longer Will's first year.
August 13, 2008 - two months old.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THIS BLOG?
September 13, 2008 - three months old, eating his ugly doll.
We think we'll probably do weekly updates now, as we still like writing it, and presumably you still like reading it, since you're reading it now.
October 13, 2008 - four months old, going bald, snuggling Gracie.
However, sometimes I feel guilty about stupid things like forgetting to take a picture one day.
TURNING FIVE MONTHS OLD ON NOVEMBER 13, 2008 WAS SHOCKING.
My little business is picking up and I've started doing big craft fairs, so along with my day job, Lorne's school, and Will, we're not left with a whole lot of time.
December 13, 2008 - BEING SIX MONTHS OLD IS DELICIOUS.
You surely noticed that towards the end of Will's first year the blog was neglected for weeks at a time.
January 13, 2009 - seven months old with awesome hair.
However, we just got a new flash for the camera and Will is still pretty cute.
February 13, 2009 - eight months old.
This means we'll still take pictures. (Duh.) I doubt we'll go an entire week without taking a picture of him, so weekly blog posts seem feasible and less anxiety-inducing.
March 13, 2009 - nine months old and pantsless.
We really hope you've enjoyed watching Will grow with us over the last year, and we hope you'll continue to enjoy the blog.
April 13, 2009 - ten months old and totally awesome.
Even if we post less than we used to.
May 13, 2009 - eleven months old, eating some snackies.
We never bothered setting up Google Analytics or anything for this site, so we have no idea how many people are still reading (or looking, if you ignore the words because you are illiterate). I'm a little curious, so if you feel like it, drop a comment in this post. Wish Will Happy Birthday or something.
June 13, 2009 - one year old, and we couldn't be happier.
Of course I am still reading Will's blog - sometimes check for new posts multiple times in one day if I run out of other things to do. Would love to see you pop up on my computer on a weekly basis!!!! It has been an awesome first year for all of us, and we look forward to all the fun and shocking adventures to come.
ReplyDeleteyes, I'm still reading and will continue... you've got to hang onto the blog!!! weekly updates work
ReplyDeleteI read it! I read it! I read it!
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome that you have this documentation of Will's first year. It's amazing how much he's changed, but the expressiveness has been there since the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI still read! I forget about it for months because I've all but abandoned Google Reader but when I do remember, it's like a treat because I have tons of posts to catch up on! Like now!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw you google status about the blog, I actually wondered what you were going to do with it and meant to IM you. I think weekly updates sound like an excellent compromise and I look forward to continuing to watch Will grow in size, chronology, and powers of awesome.
I think you did a better job keeping up with picture taking than I would have. Good job! You too Will!
ReplyDeleteEmily and I still check the blog regularly. We've enjoyed watching Will grow. We also enjoy your added comments and captions.
ReplyDeleteHappy birfday Will!! I look forward to your continued adventures and your development into an iron-fisted lord who will one day rule us all.
ReplyDeleteAlysa and I love the blog and like to read about Will. It's fun to see what he's doing and say "that will be Connor in 6-ish months!"
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Bday Will. I will use any excuse to distract myself from the fear of taking the Bar exam.
ReplyDeleteHey there! I still check the blog, too! It's been fun watching Will grow!! Happy Belated Birthday! -Annelise
