Every time Emma visits, she and Laurel make cupcakes, so on Sunday they made strawberry cupcakes with Will.
Cupcakes ingredients. (Note: Smiling children are not cupcake ingredients. No smiling children were harmed in the making of these cupcakes. However, several cups of strawberries were brutally murdered.)
Some eggs were also murdered.
In the above picture, Will took the egg he was cracking and just smashed it in the bowl with both his hands. You can see Emma instructing him to do otherwise.
Emma adds buttermilk under Will's watchful eye.
Will adds the oil.
Will has helped me bake before, but often he just stands on a chair next to me and tries to eat sugar out of the canister and constantly asks for a taste or to lick the spatula. He was really good at adding his ingredients this time though. I suspect watching Emma do it without trying to eat the batter gave him something to emulate.
FYI: You don't need dogs to clean up your mess in the kitchen if you have children.
Somehow I failed to get a picture of the finished cupcakes. They were FREAKING AWESOME though. If you've got a hankering for some strawberry cupcakes, we highly recommend this recipe from Good Things Catered. Yum.
Anyway, back to the children. On Tuesday it was fairly warm out, so we pulled out the whale pool and Emma and Will went for a swim.
This is the child that screams like you're murdering him when you try to get his hair wet to wash it in the bath tub.
Evie is too little to go in the pool. What is UP with that?
On Wednesday, Evie had some tummy time. She's hated it so far, so we tried propping her up on the Boppy.
Evie was not impressed with the Boppy.
I SHAKE MY FIST AT YOU, TUMMY TIME
On Friday we took the kids to the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center. We hadn't been there before, so it was fun for all. Except Evie. Because she just slept the whole time. We didn't even take any pictures of her. NO FUN FOR BABY.
Fun with clouds.
The cloud didn't smell, no matter what you might think based on the expression on everyone's face.
Fun with earthquakes!
It kind of looks like the kids are gathered around a craps table, doesn't it?
Lorne built the St. Louis Gateway Arch.
Then this creepy phantom arm thing came...
And broke it.
Will in Kid City.
Will & Lorne playing with the ball vacuum thingy.
On Saturday, Grandma Diane and Emma went back to Seattle. Evie was all worn out.
