August 29 - September 4, 2010

On Sunday Evie looked in her mirror some more.

You may be thinking, "Hey, that Evie looks in her mirror a lot. She sounds awfully vain." But no! Babies don't recognize themselves at this age. She just thinks she's looking at some baby in a box, which is much more normal. Yes? And anyway, what kind of a jerk are you, calling a baby vain? She's a baby. Get over yourself.

On Monday Will sang a song about his family.

On Tuesday, Laurel attempted to take the children on a walk by herself, now that all the extended family had returned home and Lorne was in the lab. This involved carrying the double stroller thing down the stairs, as well as Evie in a car seat. And Will needs to hold someone's hand while going down the stairs. Going down the stairs is Laurel's biggest hurdle in going on walks. Anyway. Will likes looking at fountains, so we went to the little office park thing near us and Will spent like, 15 minutes doing this:

And he would have stared longer if Laurel hadn't gotten really bored and made him leave.

Evie thought the fountain was boring too.

Also: EXTREME BABY CLOSE UP

On Wednesday, Evie turned one month old. We were going to do one of those "take a picture of the baby in the same spot next to the same toy every month" things, but then we couldn't find the actual camera. So the first one in the series is this crappy cell phone picture that's all blurry. And it was almost bed time and Evie was all, "What are you people doing to me? I just want you put my jammies on and let me go to sleep." But anyway, here it is.

Also on Wednesday:

Evie and Lorne took a nap.

Evie tolerated tummy time far better than she had in prior attempts. We suspect this is because Will sat and played in front of her for awhile, and Will is far more interesting than Laurel and Lorne.

On Thursday Will played with Evie some more. He's really good with her.

It sort of looks like they're fighting over the duck car. But they weren't. I don't think.

Evie tried to camouflage herself with the blanket, but she failed. I can totally see her head.

Will and Evie sitting in their chairs.

On Friday, Will took a bath.

And Evie looked in the mirror some more.

You're so vain.

Also: videos!

On Saturday we watched the Huskies lose to BYU. Will told us several times throughout the day that though he was wearing a football jersey, he was in fact "a baseball guy."

Will may be smiling, but he totally thought that pass interference call was BS.
